- Don't you think it's strange we let our kids eat frosted cream filled donuts with sprinkles for breakfast, yet we'd think long and hard about serving them birthday cake...
- Do you ever sit and think how amazing it is that God knows the exact steps {I} will walk this coming year and each year to come...
- I wouldn't have ever, in a million years, predicted I would be walking in the shoes I am.
- If you host a family dinner, say for Easter, do you give your guests specific recipes (yes with book and page number) of what to bring or a vague item like, 'green salad'?
- Would I really be brave enough to sky dive if given the chance?
- Who in the world ever thought we'd be able to 'see' a baby in the womb ~ amazing, and it is happening every day.
- I can not believe what some girls are dressing like these days.
- BIG weekend over.
- Joy in Life really boils down to my attitude.
- I am head over heels in Love with my man.
- Garden planned, seeds in hand... sun and dry land I need you!
- I love feeling this little one move.
- Note to self when old: Do not, I repeat DO NOT make a bazillion rules to an Easter Egg hunt.

Monday Randomness
bullet style ~ because I like organization
- I have been without a central vacuum for 8 days now. The motor blew up, most likely from a foreign object, like und*rw*ar or something my boys didn't want to touch when they were cleaning (true story!)...I still have a Kirby, but hauling that thing up and down to vacuum the step runners is a pain. Plus I don't like to use it on my linoleum or hard wood.
- I really like clean floors. The last week has been stressful for me. See above.
- My coffee order came on Friday, at least I can drink coffee while I am stewing about my vacuum motor not showing up in 4 days like they promised.
- Decaf Coffee that is. One cup regular the rest decaf for this expecting mama.
- Kids crack me up. I feel exceptionally blessed to be able to spend the day with mine.
- Sunshine, YOU make my day.
- It amazes me how fast I can consume 3 cookies & how long, in comparison, it takes me to eat one apple.
- 127 Hours, I've been waiting to watch that movie. Possibly this week I will have time for it. Have you seen it?
- I love my Snoozer full body, feather filled pillow, however putting the pillow case back on it, is a pain.
- I'd really like to work out with Bob or Jillian (in person). Well not while I am pregnant, but, wow, what a challenge it would be!
- Body Pump, Zumba, Nia... I think maybe I'll get certified to teach something.
- I've moved my Gaiam ball to the office. It is now my chair. I'm working on posture.
- I really should go workout. Time is a tickin'

Thursday Thoughts
- Did Mary know what it meant to be the mother of Jesus? Do you think she ever questioned her 'mother skills' as she punished, praised, and raised Him?
- Do you think she punished Him?
- God's faithfulness amazes me. The way He offers complete forgiveness overwhelms my entire being.
- It hurts me to see dear ones in pain.
- Miracles still happen.
- Do I, Don't I... that is the question of the day.
- I love snow.
- Planning and executing any Holiday while keeping everyone happy {Christmas included!!!} (with both sides of our family close) is H.A.R.D.
- I need to be thankful all of my family is SO close
- The cookies in my freezer are going to make me gain 10 pounds if I don't find a home for them soon.
- The problem to the above thought it... I'd really like to try a few {MORE} new recipes. It's just so FUN!
- Homeschooling and wrapping Christmas gifts is a real challenge. My kids are always home!!!
- I realized this week, I haven't shown my girl friends know how important they are to me. I've been too engrossed with my schedule I've neglected my friendships.
- I am so blessed to be called mom.
- Hope. There is hope for everyone.

CR Ask Me
It's Friday again, and that means
Which makes it the perfect day for my answers, of random questions, from you. Gee do you think I could fit another preposition in that sentence?

Which makes it the perfect day for my answers, of random questions, from you. Gee do you think I could fit another preposition in that sentence?
Here we go...
What is your favorite kind and brand of ice cream? (I know you LOVE ice cream) Ahh, my love for ice-cream is well known! My favorite ice cream brand is SaraAnn vanilla soft serve. Our local ice-cream shop uses that brand. We can also get the mix at one of the local grocery stores and make it ourselves. I like to top my ice-cream with golden grahams or hot cocoa mix. When we go to the ice-cream shop for cones, I order it with butter-brickle sprinkles on top. If I were eating hard serve, I'd have to say Pumpkin from the Schwans man, with cereal on top of course :)
Will we adopt again? I do not know the answer to that question. Two years ago I would have said yes. 1 year ago, I'd have said no. I do not feel God pressing us to pursue an adoption right now. But, that is not to say He will not in the future or a circumstance will not arrive that we feel God is instructing us to.
Are you drinking pop again? No. I did have 7-up in the hospital after delivering Ashlynn, but that is the only pop I have had in the last 3 years.
Will I ever send my kids to school? We take it one year at a time! I am not against it. I do not feel it is Biblically wrong for children to attend school. For us, and our children right now, home-schooling is what we feel is right.
What is your biggest struggle? Honestly, the biggest thing I struggle with is prioritizing and putting what matters most, first. I tend to get caught up in my to do list of cleaning, gardening, organizing, elaborate baking/cooking and over look the simple fact that my children are only going to be living in my house for a short while and my to do this will be here for an eternity. I also struggle with girlfriend relationships. I tend to allow myself to get only so close, and then back off, but I'll save that for another day. God is really working on me in that area.
Do you ever get tired? Yes. That is why most nights I am in bed by 9:00. I don't turn my light off at 9pm, I either watch TV or read, but after 8:00 I am really worthless.
I really enjoyed these. I'll be answering more next week. If you have any other burning questions to ask, just leave a comment and I'll add it to the list :)

CR In my house
you will find...
- Organization, thus the bullets for this post
- Kids socks in very strange places

- A fly in my freezer. It's a boy experiment.
- Too many pillows on my bed. The pregnancy pillow really should go but it's just so darn comfy.
- Clothes, sorted by color, hanging in the closets.
- A Rubbermaid of winter clothes waiting to be switched out.
- Dust bunnies under my refrigerator, and a little gross dirt. I'm just being honest. Oh, and a marble too.
- Multiple containers of things, my husband's wish.
- 4 kinds of Organic Milk in my refrigerator. 2%, VAT 2%, Kefir and Rice Milk.
- Giggly girls
- A frog lovingly placed on my night stand for me to sleep with.
- Jelly Belly's hidden in the highest kitchen cupboard. The one I can barely reach on a step stool. The one which no child can reach.
- Adventurous boys
- A cow tooth (not pictured) and rocks with fossils sitting on my counter.
- Best friends who kiss in the kitchen just to gross the kids out.
- Love.

CR Cupcakes, Rice & Science
It's been a fun week. Actually, every week is fun here! I believe life is what you make it. Attitudes are the responsibility of the holder, and any situation has the possibility of being a grand ole time, even weed pulling.Did you know clean pizza boxes make great cupcake carriers? We purchased these from a local pizzeria for $1 a piece. I should have put parchment paper over the cupcakes before closing the lid, however I did not think about it until I opened the box and saw the grease marks on the lid. It was a good thing these little gems were going to a group of Jr High kids, they 'one-bited' both boxes in record time. Here is my recipe.
Do you have little ones?
If so, you need a box of beans and rice. It'll provide hours of fun.
Next week I'm planning a post on activities for little ones and what to do to keep them busy. Be sure to check back to see what we do :)

We love science at our house.
Experiments are a great way to make an impact and help your visual learners remember. We tried several experiments this past week. A few failed, but several worked.
We put our feet in bags (using a rubber band to close them) to visually see how moisture leaves our body. After 10 - 15 minutes moisture drops filled the bags, and our feet got really hot!
Then we made our own spider web and threw ping-pong balls at it. This showed us how a web works as a trap for spiders to catch their food. Did you know some spiders can make webs that are sticky on only one side? Just like our tape!
Spiders are pretty cool and very talented arachnid, but those black and gold ones in my bushes will always creep me out.

CF ~ Learning
Hello Friday
Its nice to see you again!
Today does not seem like your day. I am stuck in the middle of the week due to the 'Hog-day' as my daughter called it, on Monday.
But today I will embrace you.
.Friday.
On this Friday, once again, I will join in on
Its been one of those weeks where I've learned so much.
::LIKE::
Dirty inside out socks have a reason for being inside out. Take caution when opening as dirt will fly everywhere as you flip them.
Never leave a one year old in the same room with a folded basket of laundry. The one year old will thoroughly enjoy unfolding each and every piece.
Boy will be boys. And us girls will never fully understand them. For instance: Why use the facilities inside? It is much more fun to run past the bathroom and out the door to find a bush. Why would you scrub your legs with soap while taking a shower? Doesn't the shower water clean them on its way down? Boys love to scare people. The stinkier and louder the better.
A coffee mug must be placed under the K-cup because drinking coffee off of the counter is rather hard.
I really need to start planning dinner before 5:00. I use to be so good at that. What happened?
------------------
Speaking of, what should I make for dinner tonight? We've had pizza, beef roast, Catavini, steak, and Cowboy Beans so far for main dishes this week. What have you been eating?
------------------
Do you have big plans for the weekend?
I'll be watching a football game, baking snacks for 60 Jr High kids and making breakfast finger foods for a class at church. Plus taking a child to soccer and to Sunday night youth group. Hopefully I'll get some cleaning done and the yard mowed too. I think I'd better go get busy!
Have a fabulous weekend!!!

We've had so much rain this summer, my garden is a jungle.
Yesterday was the first I was able to work in it this week. Most of the day I spent weeding, tilling and harvesting.
This is what we found.

This is what we found.
Plus a few enormous cucumbers, zucchini and yellow squash.
The boys enjoyed boasting their tremendous strength by cracking them over their heads.

Ah yes, the joy of extra large produce.
!Silly Boys!
I can't believe my baby is one.
How can summer be almost over. I'm not ready for fall yet. Do you remember being a kid and the summer taking forever?
Why isn't it like that anymore?
I really need to decide on our school material and get it ordered. Then I need to pick a start date. I'm not ready for that yet either. Anyone else homeschooling? I'm indecisive on our English program. What do you use?
Did I ever tell you I took my kids to the zoo, two hours away, and forgot shoes for my 3 year old?
Yip I did. They didn't sell shoes at the gift shop either.
.Lovely.
I really like raw yellow squash and zucchini. They go especially well with ranch dip or garden fresh salsa.
.YUM.
Last night for dinner we had all day baked bacon beans, fresh salsa, corn chips, fresh produce and watermelon. It doesn't get much better than that!
Did you see the pineapple in my garden picture. I said it was a jungle. Just kidding, I'm not growing pineapple, just seeing how awake you are :)
Have a terrific Friday!

So we made due with socks. Red snake socks and a pink outfit.
.Beautiful.
That same week, I was in a store in town and the baby exploded all over my arm. I didn't have extra clothes for her. We were headed to swimming lessons after the store..Beautiful.

The sun is shinning the birds are chirping my coffee is perfectly brewed and all children are still a sleep. Ahh, Life is Good!
I've learned a lot this week...
I've learned a lot this week...
1. Muffin Pans in the oven for more than 120 seconds are too hot to hold on to. And when you drop them, due to the fact they are HOT, the muffin batter will fly out and make a big mess because the muffins have not baked yet.
2. Never be in too big of a hurry to forget a certain undergarment. When you run down the stairs, you will notice and will have to run back up and put it on. Which, in the end, will set you back precious seconds.
3. 2 Boys left unattended will most certainly do something a female would NEVER dream of.
4. Washing and drying a red Sharpie will not ruin a load of whites. In fact, it doesn't even bleed!
5. Ping Pong balls get VERY, VERY hot in the dryer.
6. Match Box cars will not go through the automatic ice machine. Nope, they will plog it up.
7. Plog, yes it's a word. It's in the Urban Dictionary.
8. BB's, plastic bags, and drill bits will get stuck in the washing machine pump. Good thing the repair man taught me how to fix it last time he was here. I've repaired it 4 times now.
9. A bucket of parade candy is really annoying to have. I think people should throw vegetables instead of candy.
10. Annoying as it is, parade candy is a very good bribing tool.
On another note, listen to this song....
Good stuff to remember.

Random thoughts from another rainstorm kind of day...Today has not gone as planned... I took my 11 month old to the DR this morning, exactly 2 weeks after our last visit, for another ear infection. Errr. So tired of this. I've been doing a lot of reading on the subject. Chiropractic care/dairy or wheat allergies/common colds/age/antibiotic or no antibiotic/herbs/garlic/homeopathic... Really, what is the cause and what is the best treatment?
Recently I was asked by my daughter while driving down the highway,
'Mom whose cows are those?'
me 'Mr Bob's'
her 'oh ok'
I really have no clue.
Why does she care anyway?
Yes, it is official, we have 5 seasons in the Midwest; Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring, and Monsoon. We currently are in Monsoon Season. Hopefully June 21st will bring Summer!'Mom whose cows are those?'
me 'Mr Bob's'
her 'oh ok'
I really have no clue.
Why does she care anyway?
On the bight side, my garden is plush, weeds and all. The grass couldn't be greener. And, the ponds are all full and looking beautiful.
I hate when I say things I shouldn't. Did that this week in front of my child.
Why do some people always have to be right? I had a lloonngg conversation and in the end, everything I said was wrong and everything this person said was right. My husband says it's better just to eat crow and suck it up. Oh, that is so hard at times!
My second oldest child is going off to over night camp on Monday. He is SO excited. I am not sure how I'll handle it. I'm sure he'll do fine.
I'm going to make bread this afternoon, sounds like the best thing to do in the rain. Hopefully the skies will clear enough for a baseball game.

Don't forget to remember your Father this Sunday.
Tell him you love him, and even if he hasn't been the best daddy, tell him one thing he's done that has meant a lot to you. You'll make his day!

Time please .S.L.O.W. down!
Can it possibly be Friday already?
Yip, I check the calendar, it is officially Friday.
And Friday brings...
The week has been full.
Check my mid week post if you don't believe me.
The rest of the week has been just as crazy.
Summer vacation, where are you?
*#*#*#*#*#*
I'm a mom, but I still dream big dreams and have wild and crazy thoughts. I call these thoughts 'brain rides'. Most of the time brain rides occur while I'm sitting on the lawn mower or on my morning run.
I love mowing the lawn, there is something peaceful about the loud roar of the mower. And running for 45-60 minutes, well, it's just a brain ride waiting to happen.
Crazy brain rides of mine...
I dream of diving the Great Barrier Reef with my family. I would love to see the eyes of my children as they swim with the fish, and see the living coral full in color.
I imagine myself running a marathon, and finishing alive.
I think of going to Africa on a Safari... Wouldn't that be cool?
I wonder what I'd look like with red hair. And if I'mbrave stupid enough to try it.
I dream of being all God created me to be. Of not being afraid of taking the steps He wants me to. Of stepping out of my comfort zone when He is leading. And doing great things, not for my glory, but for His.
I wonder what it would be like to be a missionary in the jungle, living among the native people, raising my family.
I dream of being a Grandma, but not anytime soon!
I entertain the thought of going back to school to become a trainer or a nutritionist.
I wonder what it would be like to have twins. And I actually think it'd be fun. Am I crazy?
Where do your brain rides take you?

Summer Time Summer Time Summer Time Summer Time Summer Time Summer Time Summer Time Summer Time Summer Time Summer Time Summer Time Summer Time
Ahhh, could not be more joyful. I am Lov'n this weather!!!
Yesterday was perfect... I:
Ran outside, it was gorgeous at 6am!
Tilled the garden, until I ran out of gas, which was ok because it was lunch time anyway.
Went to the green house, I love green houses.
Swam with good friends in the backyard.
Grilled steak and chicken for dinner.
Ate Rhubarb Crisp for dessert.
Spent the evening at home. The first time all week!
A dear friend brought me an enormous bag of rhubarb. I made a scrumptious pie, which I'll be sharing the recipe soon, and the typical crisp. The rest I froze.
My strawberry patch is in full swing. I need to put an electric fence up to keep the thieves away. Those kids of mine can't seem to keep their hands off of them ;)
There is something magical about planting teeny, tiny seeds and then !BOOM! one day you have a row of green. It is so fun to watch, especially for the little hands that help plant.
We're really busy with baseball these days. We have games 4 nights a week, but I wouldn't trade it. I love to watch the boys play and chat with the other moms. Good times.
God's been working in my heart. I love my morning outside run, I feel so close to Him.
Trying to pick a swimming day. Which one should it be? I'm making up my guest list :)
Enjoy the loooonnng weekend, and let the summer fun begin!

....F.R.I.D.A.Y....

We are almost done, d.o.n.e. with our school year.
..........Ahhhhh, yes..........
Deep breath.
Only a few more days.
I am in need of a little teaching break. Now don't get me wrong, we will still be learning, reading, creating and building, but it will not be as structured.
It will be outside.
It will be fun.
It will be spontaneous.
I hope to take the kids to the zoo, hiking, swimming, boating, 4 wheeling...make cars out of boxes, build a larger catapult, camp out, have a messy/gooey obstacle course with our friends, build a fire pit in the yard, and I'd really like to build an outdoor oven. Wouldn't that be cool?!?!

I planted the vegetable garden yesterday... with my 3 year old.
Yes, it was a bit challenging.
I think I planted my patience about an hour into it. Luckily, after about an hour of digging around, I found some patience sprouting up from last year and the final hour went much better. She was pleased as peaches to be helping.
**********************
My mom came over for lunch yesterday for Mothers Day. We had a good time. Ashlynn even let Grandma hold her. Huge milestone for Ashlynn, she might like Grandma after all.
**********************
Speaking of, Ashlynn is finally getting teeth. However, it is the top two, not the bottom ones. She will look like a little bunny with big buck teeth.
Cracks me up.
**********************
My biggest boy is going to camp this summer for the first time. He is so excited. It is a shooting and archery camp with a Biblical base. It sounds like a fun time, totally boy and right up his alley! I am so excited for him.

It's Mothers Day weekend, don't forget to tell your mother you love her!

F.R.I.D.A.Y.'S.......
FuNNy, OdD and BiZaRRe things...
*Why does the pluggy always end up behind the crib by the wall? Why isn't it ever in front of the crib in the wide open room?
*My 9 month old had the strangest rash last week. It popped up 5 hours after we left the Ped's office for her 9 month 'Well Baby Check'. So back we went the following morning to hear, "Wow, that is IMPRESSIVE." Yes, Doc I know. It is all over her and growing! What is it????? Turns out it was the way her body was reacting to a virus she caught. There was nothing we could do but wait it out. Thankfully, Sunday morning she woke up and the red, blotchy, hive looking patches all over her body were gone!
*Do ya' ever wonder why there is a record (in the Guinness Book of World Records) for 'Fastest person to eat a 12" pizza'. One minute 45.37 seconds. Or WHY 32,681 people in India would gather to set a record for the 'Largest Tea Party'. Seriously, don't these people have better things to do.
*I told my 3 year old, many cold months ago, 'when the flowers grow and bloom we will be able to go swimming'. Guess what, she hasn't forgotten, and my flowers are blooming... bad deal for me. My solution, they aren't flowers. Nope, they are tulips, snowball bushes, and daffodils. Hey, at least it's buying me a little time!
*Why does the baby always wait until we are running late and dashing out the door to have a blow out? Just how does she know???
*Did you know a large shake at McDonald's will set you back 1100 calories? I think I'll be sticking to the cone.
*Electric toothbrushes and mechanical pencils; my kids think they are very cool. Oh the simple pleasures of life...
*Real conversation with my 7 year old...
'What's for dinner mom?'
'I didn't make dinner, instead I made 17 dozen cookies.'
'Oh good, then we get cookies for dinner! Right?'
'Uh, No.'
But inside I was really thinking, Yes, YEs, YES!! I'd love to have cookies for dinner too!!

Caffeinated Randomness
For your reading pleasure, random thoughts from a home-schooling mom's head...i'm serving cake at a wedding this weekend... hope i don't do something clumsy!!
I am a bit obsessive about what I write with.
These are my favorite pens.
The fine tip point is the best.
Tysonwas persuaded by his father to ask for requested a white cake with pudding filling for his birthday. It turned out pretty good.
The birthday boy approved.
What should i make for dinner tonight... maybe i'll grill chicken...
Notice the top lip, you might need to dig out your magnifying glass. This boy is very proud of what he's got going on up there.
Cracks me up!

I'm in the mood to take a road trip with the kids... maybe we'll go to the zoo, or the caves... I'd really like to take them to the Creation Museum, but I don't think I want to go quite that far.
I'm so glad the sun is coming out again today! But weeds, PLEASE STOP GROWING!

I did a little photo shoot with the girls last week.
Not too bad for an amateur photographer.

FRiDaY!! You are here. It's been a good week, but I always like when it's your day. Moods are a bit brighter, steps a bit lighter. Thank you FRiDaY for your return...

Seriously, I think I have the happiest baby on the earth. Miss Ashlynn smiles from the moment she wakes up until the moment she goes to bed. Love that little girl.
Fresh Salsa like this
with tomatoes from my garden, sounds delicious right now. I think I could live on chips and salsa in the summer.
I am not sure who has spring fever worse, my kiddo's or myself. I'm even contemplating cleaning the windows... soon, very soon my friends, I WILL get the ambition to do it!
We're venturing out tomorrow and going to the Fireman's Pancake Breakfast. Wouldn't it be great if Caribou Coffee catered the coffee for them?
Gabrielle won a contest at the bank. She guessed which egg would hatch first. She's taking us all out for ice-cream!
Ball season has arrived. We've been doing a lot of this in our back yard.
Just not in shorts yet. Although my husbands legs are currently that white, they almost blend in with his socks don't they, this is a year around look for him. Poor guy.

I seriously wonder about the condition of our Country. What was he thinking? What were (the people who voted for him) thinking electing him?
I think I am going to make pizza for dinner. Taco Pizza sounds pretty good.
Anyone done P90X or INSANITY? How is that working for you? Is it worth the money?

It's
FRIDAY
Yippee!

In my cup of Java today steams hot milk and Vanilla Cream Coffee.... funny how a year ago I didn't care much for coffee. I'd have a cup every now and then at church when I needed a little gogo juice at the early service, but the taste, EEww! Really, it was all I could do to choke it down. Little did I know, church coffee is bad. Not all coffee tastesso... strong/bitter/black that way. My Father-in-Law says, 'I've grown up...a little' I still need hot, steamy milk added to really enjoy a cup. I guess I won't be all grown up until I can drink it black.
On my mind, random thoughts flow...
Why do my kids say 'doorknob' when they toot? It's just crazy.
Why can we never find a ruler? We have at least 4. Where do they all go?
Yippee!

How should I design my garden this year? I have great ideas floating in my head of sunflower forts and climbing bean teepee's. Could I really pull it off?
Why do my kids say 'doorknob' when they toot? It's just crazy.
I am so glad it is warm enough to grill. I love to grill, it makes meals so much easier.
Why can we never find a ruler? We have at least 4. Where do they all go?
If I put the snow clothes away, we'll get a blizzard... if I keep tripping over them and closing my eyes to avoid looking at the mess until May, we'll have beautiful weather... Why is it like that...I'm SO tired of a cluttered garage!
My bulbs are popping up! I can't wait to see beautiful colors in my yard.
Chickens, no chickens... I'd really like farm fresh eggs again, but can we keep the coons away? Do I let the kids pick wild looking varieties of chicks like we always do, or go straight to the pullets and get eggs within weeks...
I am making and delivering two meals to families in our church with new babies today. I love doing this... I'd better get busy!!!
Have a great weekend!
Have a great weekend!

Caffeinated Randomness
- Currently I am drinking a cup of Vanilla Cream Coffee with Stevia and skim milk. Yum!
- I am really picky about my apples. They must be crisp, not soft, not mussy, not overripe foam. Not that I've ever tasted foam... I eat at least two apples a day, I love apples, good ones. Granny Smith are my favorite.
- New workout socks feel really good on my feet.
- I was enjoying the snow until it started to melt... now I am SO ready for Spring, no lets just skip spring and go straight into summer! I really like summer.
- Mopping is somehow relaxing to me, dusting on the other hand raises my blood pressure.
- I am actively searching for a good, deep devotional. Know any???
- It's OK to just zip my lip and not say a word, even when I am RIGHT! Need to practice this...
- I want to wear my new flip flops and not freeze my toes off or get them muddy.
- I can't wait mow the lawn and smell the freshly mowed grass. Mowing the lawn is like mopping, very soothing.
- I wonder what it would be like to pick up my family and move to Africa and live in a rain forest or on Mount Kilimanjaro. What would my day to day life be like?
- Kids crack me up. Seriously I laugh 100's of times at day at mine. If I didn't, I think I would lose my mind.
- Today is my favorite man's birthday. Words can't describe how much I love him.
- I haven't had a bowl of ice cream all week. A record I think.
