Thanksgiving

As I sit here and feed my wee one before we head to eat with Grandma, I can't help but think of the many things I am Thankful for. God has blessed me far beyond my wildest dreams.

10 years ago we were in the depths of infertility treatments. And today I sit listening to 5 children in the background. It has been a long journey, one I know I would not have had enough courage to walk had I been shown the future. But God is Faithful, and He gave us strength.

2 years ago my husband fell 40 feet, and walked away with only a back ache. The Lord was with him that night! I can't imagine what life would be like without him.

3 months ago I walked a path so scary, I wasn't sure I would come out the other side. The Lord provided dear friends to comfort and support me.

We have been blessed with a successful business and hard working employees.

We love our church & church friends dearly.

I am blessed.

Lets put the 'Thanks' back into Thanksgiving

What are you looking forward to tomorrow?

....Succulent Stuffing? Juicy Turkey topped with Rich Gravy? Black Friday starting early this year? Grandma's Pumpkin Pie? Football? The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade....

Yes, those things are good, and fun to look forward to, but what are You Thankful for?
BIG things
LITTLE things
We ALL have something to say THANKS for.
Take a minute and think about all the blessings you've received this past year.
some of mine...
birth of a healthy child
good health
loving, caring, Godly husband
plenty of work for my husband
friends who come and stay with me when I need them
grandparents who spend time with my children
clothes, shoes, necessities

What are ways you can add 'Thanks' back into your Thanksgiving?

Read
before or after your big dinner:

Offer Coloring Pages for little ones.

Write 'I Give Thanks' Cards
Have everyone write on a note card something they are thankful for. Print themed ones here. Keep them from year to year and read a few old ones each year. It might be less intimidating if you don't make people put their names on their cards.

Fast
Not from a food, but a luxury item you have. You may fast for the day prior to Thanksgiving, or choose next year to fast the week prior. Then break the fast on Thanksgiving day. Discuss on Thanksgiving how you felt during that time and the other things you have you take for granted.

I'd love to hear how You plan to Give Thanks this Thanksgiving.
